29 Faces Art Challenge 2014...Collage of Faces

29 Faces Art Challenge...Updated Day 28!

Day 27 of 29FacesArtChallenge2014! Only one more day to go! I have really enjoyed this challenge and proud that I sketched almost every day. What I learned is that practice practice practice is all you need to improve your art no matter what you are doing. I didn't love all my sketches for the challenge but I loved sitting down to sketch each and every one. A huge thank you to Ayala for hosting!!

29 Faces Art Challenge 2014...Week 4 Updated!

Week 4 of the 29FacesArtChallenge!  I didn't do a sketch every day but came close.  Last week I started a different series of sketches on the WiiUGamepad still focusing on faces and wanted to post them this week.

The sketch above is Day 18....really love this style and plan on doing many more.

Paint Party Friday...Art Journal WIP

I am doing an Art Journal Round Robin with a couple of friends and this is a journal spread WIP I am doing for one of them. Her theme is Gardens, Flowers, Springtime...but here it's still cloudy, muddy and depressing. So I did a spread reflecting how I feel before Spring begins...before the rebirth and blossoming. In the spread I used Anais Nin's quote:

So perfect for this time of year when you know Spring is right around the corner...

29 Faces Art Challenge 2014...Week 3

Week 3 of 29FacesArtChallenge2014! I'm keeping up and still doing my sketches on the WiiUGamepad using the ArtAcademySketchpad game. Hoping to do some physical sketches this week...we'll see how it goes. I'm really loving doing a sketch a day!

Day 17....Above is another digital sketch. I've been practicing using a limited color palette and trying to do better eyes and hair.

I have been doing a different style of sketching that I will be posting next week for Week 4.

Day 8...still practicing manga/anime style drawing!

Day 12...she's a little 'off' but I'm happy with how she turned out!

29 Faces Art Challenge 2014...Week 1!

I'm so happy to be participating in the 29FacesArtChallege2014! I will be sketching, painting and creating faces in February for the challenge. I am currently obsessed with faces so this is so perfect!

Day 1...The sketches above are drawn digitally on the WiiU Gamepad with the game ArtAcademySketchpad. It's done just like 'real' drawing except that you use a stylus as your pencil/pen/brush and the gamepad screen as your paper/canvas. So much fun and no mess to clean up! I do these sketches when I just have a few minutes to sit and do art. It's great practice and very relaxing.

Day 2...Another digital sketch on the WiiU Gamepad. I love Japanese anime/manga and have been trying to learn the style!

Day 3...practice learning Anime/Manga style.

Day 4....digital sketch.
